I have a #Kafka consumer. When K8s deploys two pods on the same host one consumer goes rogue and consumes the same messages all over again. Works if deployed on different hosts. Consumer Id's are unique. Wtf?

I have two Kafka Systems. A legacy one and a successor. We write events to both clusters. Yesterday the new system was missing 1 freaking message (out of many hundred millions). After crying the half day, I wrote a script to find out it was never produced in the first place.

Just spent a couple hours debugging a CORS error, only to find out I had the wrong endpoint URL. Classic developer move. 🚀🤦‍♂️ It was a multipart form upload, which sends an OPTIONS preflight request. What was a 404 showed as CORS error..

TIL: when you offer event callbacks to your customers, send a proper user agent. They might be using CloudFlare or other firewalls.

I'm amazed when software engineers tell me they refuse to use any AI. Fact is - if you refuse using AI, you'll be left behind. And you'll find yourself unemployable within the next years. Not saying that one should blindly copy AI code, but use it as a tool to boost productivity.

A Lamborghini Revuelto's front subframe costs 55,000 GPB. For like a piece of carbon fiber enforced plastic! Why? Because you are not just paying for the cost to produce this part + some markup. That made me realize - I need to switch from hourly billing to value based pricing.

Gemini 2.5 is quite impressive! It built me this simple web app from initial idea to being live in less than 10 minutes. Hosted on bare metals, served with nginx. Check the app findmybedtime.com

Are you kidding me, we can't order a string in DocumentDB? Unlike MongoDB, it doesn't have support for collations. Therefore ordering "a,d,B,c" becomes => "B,a,c,d"

My therapist refuses to accept that ChatGPT will take a good chunk of his clients. Personally I use AI exclusively for a year now for all therapy and coaching needs, where I went to him before. For a tiny fraction of the cost...

Lately I've been working with Microsoft to get a bug in one of their open source libraries resolved (Semantic Kernel). During debugging I had to dive deep into their code base, and was shocked about the code quality. Not in a good way😲
