I don’t think people realize how complex the trauma of being disabled is. It’s traumatic not having full control of your body. The trauma of living in poverty, of having to rely on others for survival; to prove your life is worthy of living and the system trying to harm you.

I've had a lot of blood tests in my life so I'm able to see a trend. I know if I'm able to deal with my issues regarding my sickle cell anemia that I'll be able to feel better. Yes I'm aware there's a cure for it now. But it's so expensive that it's impossible for me to get.

I was able to read my blood test results from a few days ago. To no surprise to me, I'm still anemic. I have sickle cell anemia. But nothing is being done about it currently. Hopefully my new family doctor can help or refer me to a specialist that'll see me.
