Just saying... if you apply for a job in another country... maybe first check if you meet the criteria to get a visa to that country.

Sidebar: If you're asking for science that will provide you with something that will do something you would like to have... you're not looking for science, you're looking for engineering.

#WeekendReading: Chen et al. on magnesium isotopes in cold seep carbonates, and what it might tell us about the dolomite formation pathways there. Not fully in on the model, but it's good someone finally did this properly. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

We have a new paper out! Using a combination of carbon and neodymium isotopes, we traced the exchange of water from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean south of Australia over the Neogene and how orbital forcing modulated it. Link: agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/20…

We have a new paper (in GEOLOGY!) Using a new way to look at sabkha sediments with clumped isotopes, we found that warming in the Miocene was not that significant in the horse latitudes. Most of the warming was likely in the mid to high latitudes. Link: pubs.geoscienceworld.org/gsa/geology/ar…

Does anyone know if there is a way to ask Wizards of the Coast or Paizo (or any other major TTRPG) for a research grant? I got a silly little idea that might be fun to pitch.
