Distressing to be treated like a common trespasser when, as an New York University professor, I try to get access to my campus. The campus security “captain” refused to answer any questions. “I’m not engaging in dialogue with you,” he says to a professor.

Very proud to share that my alma mater, CUNY English PhD Program, has released an academic boycott pledge. Our faculty, students, and alumni refuse to do business with Columbia + Barnard until the schools reinstate the students and engage with their demands. CUNY4Palestine docs.google.com/document/d/1-U…

When people do things, it reminds other people that they can do things, and the ball rolls on and on, from Columbia to Michigan to Palestine to the Lakota lands to every little place where people can decide to create - rather than ask for - something better.

BREAKING: Students have taken to the streets!

Hundreds of students are now blocking the intersection of Grove and College chanting “WHOSE STREETS? OUR STREETS!” and singing.

This is in direct protest of their peers at the Yale divestment encampment being arrested minutes ago.

BREAKING: NYU students with NYU PSC have launched a Gaza Solidarity Encampment.

Per media release, the encampment is *also* calling on their school to divest from Israel & to end its Tel Aviv satellite campus.

Security scrambled to stop the students, but failed.

There are now at least 200 students gathered in the plaza.

Organizers have been informed they will be given ONE warning before arrests begin, and are rushing to get everyone out of their tents to surround the encampment.

Students are beginning to form a circle and lock arms.

NOW: New Haven police are getting RIOT GEAR out of their vehicles, and entrances to the plaza are blocked by Yale police cars.

A crowd of roughly 100-200 students is currently occupying the plaza, and it seems like arrests are imminent.

More students are beginning to arrive.

Worth noting also that a student walkout and faculty rally are slated for tomorrow. With one hand, she is calling for a 'reset,' but with the other hand, she may be attempting to disrupt her opponents...
