(2/2)The winning tune is shown as part of the exhibition Braemar Highland Games Centre! It was composed by GS McLennan, one of the most famous Scottish pipers. He died in 1929, but his son George entered the unnamed tune of his father’s in the competition and won!#MusicArchives #explorearchives

It’s everyone’s favourite #explorearchives theme today - #HairyArchives! These Duff Highlanders standing outside Mar Lodge have some hairy faces, but even hairier sporrans! The Duff Highlanders took part in the March of the Highlanders, part of the Braemar Gathering until 1936.
