Paint what’s familiar they say… well snow, we are becoming too familiar lately ! I kid, because I really do love a snowy winter! Not so much driving in it, but walking is beautiful! What could be more Canadian?! Back Fields 8x10” oil

Late January is the best time to catch the sun at this angle in these fields that I XC ski in. I get lots of inspiration from this area that happens to be in the same field as the early now famous sculpture from the recently deceased Richard Serra. #WinterVibes

It was one of those naturally limited palette days - beautiful shades of grey, high contrasts and little pops of colour. That’s what attracted me to this landscape scene, like it was painted for me. Winter Sky 8x10” oil. #canadianart #winter

Sometimes I flip back to look at small sketches I have done but never made into larger paintings. Here is one of those… In The Stillness 24x24” oil

Excited to show a new body of work at Algonquin Art Centre this summer. This one was inspired by paddling Lake of Two Rivers last summer and dogo Josephine’s first paddling trip!

Algonquin Art Centre opens tomorrow, June 28, for the season. Always a great place to stop in while enjoying the park. I’ve delivered an all new body of work too. Misty Marsh 30x40” oil is one new painting.
