In an effort to try and take a break post exams (and not feel guilty for doing so) I picked up 'Two Cures for Love' by Wendy Cope. The orange is my forever my favourite poem but here are some more crackers! 🍊

What a lovely article about our graduation! It was lovely to speak to Kate again, although it seems I couldn't think of any words to describe my feelings other than honour and pride at the time! 👩🏽‍🎓🤣 liverpool.ac.uk/population-hea…

Less than one week until #UKSF24 in Liverpool! I cannot wait to attend and learn more about the latest advances in Stroke Research, as well present the results of my undergraduate dissertation!

What a great start to December! Thank you so much to everyone for donating to two incredible causes, Zoe's Place and The Stroke Association. We smashed our goal and had the best time doing it! 🎅🏻 Stroke Association @ZoesPlaceLiv

What a fantastic talk, it was great to learn about the role stroke survivors play in co-designing interventions. It was so powerful and insightful to hear from Keith and Rachel about their experience! #UKSF2024

#UKSF24 Prof Terry Quinn - excellent presentation challenging the stroke community to “zoom out”… rather than focussing in, specialising too far and working in silos. Priorities - recognising multimorbidity, frailty awareness, social determinants, rehab and life after stroke.

A very insightful opening plenary, it was great to hear more about the future of stroke care and I was so interested in how stroke patients and their recovery should be considered within their own context. #uksf24

Early detection and ongoing challenges of spasticity post-stroke at #UKSF24.👇 “Self efficacy and knowledge is important in people identifying spasticity” because spasticity commonly develops after several months. Spasticity at 3 and 6 months DOUBLES, but most rehab is acute…

"I'm rewriting my own book and that would be called 'The Pursuit of Happiness'." Wow, how inspiring to hear from Dave on his story as well as other experts on life after stroke. Another great talk from Stroke Association #uksf24 💜

“I’ve never had a suicidal thought in my life. But I do remember thinking, it might be better if stroke had taken me.” As an engineer, fixing things all his life, Dave Howard realised he now had to fix himself… and now believes: “my happiest moments are yet to come.” #UKSF24
