1/4 Swan Lake concerts done with the spectacular Rotterdam Phil! Great way to end the year, and I’m looking forward to coming back in 2024 for some other exciting projects. (Also very much enjoying sharing the dressing room with this rather impressive plant)

Extremely excited to be conducting this opera in the summer, and especially pleased to be collaborating with Rebecca Meltzer for the first time since 2017!

Very excited to be on my way to Detroit for my debut with the Detroit Symphony! Wonderful programme of Mozart, Elgar, Finzi, and Emilie Mayer, and a pleasure to perform with Detroit principal clarinet Ralph Skiano: dso.org/events-and-tic…

It’s been such a pleasure working with this tremendous orchestra - looking forward to four concerts this weekend! Detroit Symphony

End of a busy month of concerts with CBSO, Rotterdam Phil, and Cambridge Uni Music (possibly including a world premiere by Brahms…) now onto this monumental work for the first time at St Marylebone Fest with a great team of friends and colleagues: stmarylebone.org/product/j-s-ba…

Such a pleasure to be back in the Usher Hall with the wonderful Royal Scottish National Orchestra last night! One more concert tonight in Glasgow - and fantastic to hear makoto ozone’s amazing Rhapsody in Blue improvisations!

What a wonderful week in Rotterdam! Thanks to Chen Reiss and Rotterdam Phil for two very special concerts.

Really thrilled to be conducting The Turn of the Screw this summer Waterperry Opera Festival - it’s been a project long in the making, and there are only three performances so get your tickets now!

On the train now for my final trip abroad this season - rounding things off with some intriguing pieces with the ever wonderful Rotterdam Phil…Then straight back and into #TheTurnoftheScrew Waterperry Opera Festival!

I’ve conducted #Messiah 11 times in the past three years, but every time you come back to this remarkable piece you find another treasure waiting. Delighted to be returning to it again this Christmas with Waterperry Opera Festival

Delighted to be opening Waterperry Opera Festival with The Turn of the Screw tonight - and much looking forward to seeing all the other shows in the next couple of weeks as well! Guy Verrall-Withers Rebecca Meltzer Ashley Beauchamp

“With music-making as exceptional as this, Waterperry’s Turn of the Screw is a fine example of the company’s ambition and vision.” Delighted with this review from Opera Today — still two chances to see this show! waterperryoperafestival.co.uk/theturnofthesc…

Another wonderful year at Waterperry Opera Festival. Thanks to everyone who made it happen — a pleasure as ever, and especially to work on a show with Rebecca Meltzer again after seven years! Already enjoying plotting new projects for next summer…

At the beginning of a VERY long journey to to Osaka by taxi, train, plane, monorail, Shinkansen, subway, and finally foot…but I can’t wait to be back in Japan and to spend the week with the 大阪フィルハーモニー交響楽団 and Imogen Cooper for a wonderful programme of Boulanger, Mozart, and Dvorak!

Have very much enjoyed my first visit to Portugal, and am looking forward to rounding it off with final performances of this wonderful piece today! Gulbenkian Música

This summer promises to be another feast Waterperry Opera Festival! I’m especially looking forward to Semele with Rebecca Meltzer but there is so much more besides!
