Just made a series of these skip counting practice activities to help a friend's granddaughter who is struggling with learning times tables. I used the Brainingcamp app to make them.

Alongside that, I also made a learning doubles practice using one of the mathlearningcenter.org/apps Using the '5 and a bit' structure of numbers e.g. seeing numbers like double 7 as double 5 and double 2.

‘Learning that does not last was never really learning, it was mere exposure’. Another cracker from Mark McCourt In my role as an intervention teacher and as a tutor preparing pupils for GCSE I see this issue day in, day out.

Great question from a Singapore Maths competition for Primary 6. Requires a careful and systematic approach and also has triangular numbers within that analysis. 😍

All our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils are taking part in this tomorrow morning! They are so lucky to able to enter challenges like this - great fun! Huge thanks to The Mathematical Association for doing these. 😍

This is still one of my favourite videos I have made. A presentation I did for Complete Maths in 2023. Using the James Pearce James Pearce Decimals Blocks app. Fractals in action. I love apps that enable users to zoom in and out and to appreciate scale and connections.

Using algebra tiles app to help Y10 understand what 'completing the square' looks like as we work on calculating intercepts on axes and turning points.

1/n Thought we had done our last Jinja Educational Trust (JET) trip, but they persuaded me and Karen to go again. We have spent the week travelling into JET schools, some 'off road' a long way from Jinja. Lots to share: children are stunning - so calm, focussed and well-behaved.
