This graphic really highlights just how much rain has fallen in central Europe in the last few days. Poland for example has doubled and in some spots tripled the record for September rainfall. Millions and millions of litres of water with no where to go.

I'm hearing reports of colleagues having to deliver specific lessons, in a specific format, with specific timings way too often for comfort atm. Is it any surprise that retention is so poor if teachers get so little in the way of autonomy?

With 924 confirmed fatalities, and possibly another 1,300+ still missing (primarily in #Myanmar and #Vietnam), Super Typhoon Yagi is tragically now the deadliest Pacific Typhoon since Haiyan in 2013. (Sat-image credit: CSU/CIRA & NOAA).

710 Palestinian newborn babies have been killed by Israeli forces during the ongoing war in Gaza. No parent should have to go through the agony and heartbreak of losing their child. We simply cannot accept the violence that Palestinian children continue to face as normal.

As the wheels of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry turn, we see that the message "Covid is airborne" was communicated poorly. I teach. In autumn 2020, I wasn't allowed to wear a high quality respirator mask like this one in my classroom. I want to know who created the school rules for COVID.

In 2008, The Dark Knight was top of the box office, and I was a fresh-faced Energy Secretary. At that time we talked about an β€œenergy trilemma” between security, affordability, and sustainability. But now the signs all point in the same direction - the sprint for clean power

Hugh Pym They still are. As are their patients. Why the constant past-tensing? Yes, I know the Covid Inquiry is an historical review, but isn’t it the job of journalists to link this to what’s happening now and start asking questions of politicians Hugh Pym?

I think this must be THE most awkward moment of the Covid Inquiry so far. I’ve dubbed it β€˜The Long Pause’. I’d love to know what was going on in Dr Ritchie’s head here. I’d like to think she had a moment of reflection of how many lives were lost due to her flawed IPC guidance.

Listening to #WindInTheWillows on audiobook for the first time in over 40 years! As a child I remember listening to an audio-cassette version narrated by Kenneth Williams. Amazed how much of it I remember! And recognising the enormous impact it had on me. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0…
