Addendum on this - look at the wage degrowth for those aged 30-39. If you came of age around the time of the GFC, you are in real terms earning less than 90% of what you would have done in 2008.

Horrifying

If I were in charge of reforming the state pension, I'd have rolled the Winter Fuel Allowance into it, reformed the Triple Lock so it looked at wages/inflation over a three-year period, and set a long-term 'pensions as a share of earnings' target.

Works out as £1276 per paying subscriber. With online subscriptions costing £131.96 per year, it will take nearly 10 years to make a return on the investment. Not a financial purchase.
