C4 having Maitlis, Campbell, Stewart etc had the potential to be really interesting. But Dorries is literally ruining it as a watch to the point where I wonder whether everyone on the panel will even last the night.

Good talking to Ben East The Telegraph with Ben Howlett Tom Harris 🇬🇧 about losing your seat. Every election results in either Victory or Liberty. Both are good. But (as encouragement to who lost their seat) Liberty can be great - once you get used to it! telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/…

Weird how Ferdinand and Richards are being so relentlessly negative about England. I don’t think we have the best squad. We have some decent attacking midfielders. Central midfield, where games are really won and lost, we are nowhere near it.

😍😍😍😍😍 A Ride Across America - reviewed in The The Guardian ... "Parker magnificently chronicles the America he encounters, a divided, disfranchised collection of states he fears for but comes to love for their generosity, community spirit and sense of hope."

Such a good book. And, in the light of this evening's news, even more relevant in the way it attempts to understand - on two wheels - what America is really grappling with.

I cannot abide the person who owns this hellhole of a distraction engine and I cannot stand the people who have been empowered to spread such hate on it. It’s not ideal in my profession I have to say, but I’m choosing kindness, to myself and others. Bye! beneast.com

This will not be a popular take… but we were miles better once Cordova was off. His weird arrogant foot on the ball stuff gets us and him into so much trouble.

On the beach or not, Norwich are as bad as I’ve seen them in years, premier league aside. There were some green shoots earlier in the season but the regression is now really worrying to the point you wouldn’t rule out a relegation battle next season

In a rather apt state of affairs, a review I did of Ned Boulting 🏳️‍⚧️’s wonderful Accidental Tour-ist for The Observer is now no longer “free to air” as it once would have been. Anyway, I found it quite moving (as well as funny), an elegy for the way we have seen and consumed cycling.

Sometimes I think my monthly reviews of books in The Observer might be a little inconsequential. And then... two days after I marvelled at Benjamin Wood's Seascraper, it makes the The Booker Prizes longlist! Great book by the way... observer.co.uk/culture/books/…

Very excited to be on #TheScrimmage tonight with Rob Butler talking about my new book ‘Cutting the Mustard’. You can read more about it here robinireland.com. Now, what shirt do I wear on the radio? 😀🔰#NCFC

Lovely piece of radio about football and memory. Will be much more if this sort of thing at Robin’s book launch on Wednesday in Norwich. Hope to see lots of you there.
