Snow on Thursday morning will mostly be over hills and mountains of N Wales & N Eng where significant disruption likely. Spreading into NI & S Scot later in day.

At low levels a light covering is possible in places but it'll be sleety/wet snow or even rain.

Storm Ingunn, named by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, will easily meet the criteria for explosive cyclogenesis as it passes to the north of the UK.

Its central pressure is forecast to drop 40-50mb over 24 hours.

After bringing damage and destruction in Florida, Idalia has weakened into a tropical storm. It's lashing the Carolinas with torrential rain and a potential 1 metre coastal storm surge - but will clear into the Atlantic later.

Hurricane Idalia continues to strengthen. When it makes landfall in Florida on Wednesday, sustained winds are forecast to reach 125mph - with the threat of a life-threatening storm surge and catastrophic flooding.

There's been some disinformation and debate around temperature forecasts for parts of Europe recently.

Table below shows the forecast air temperatures (1.2m above ground) for Greece we posted on Monday morning and the actual observed maximum temperature that day.
