Today in the SF Bay Area, someone was arrested during a multi-house raid conducted by local and federal agencies for their alleged connection to a series of direct actions committed in support of ending the siege and bombardment of Palestine. 1/5

This person is currently being held on $1M bail and is being charged with a string of felonies, including arson. They are accused of using improvised devices to start fires and damage property in retaliation for police brutality against Gaza solidarity encampments. 2/5

In the last year, David Eby defunded DULF, gutted decrim, shut some harm reduction & talked up forced treatment. Instead of spending 12 months collapsing to the right, he could've called a snap election in October 2023. With a divided right, he would've scored an easy majority.

Sadly, centrists in the mushy middle usually have more in common with the right than with actual social movements / of the genuine left. Both love market based solutions even while the world burns. Neither are capable of addressing the omni-crisis that is swallowing us.

On Wednesday, Vancouver tenants rallied outside Plan A Real Estate’s office to protest unlawful evictions surveillance and harassment that started when Plan A bought their West End building in April.
