Doing two in one day bc I missed the start of #SciCommSeptember but; I’m Becky! I’m a physics PhD student just about to start my final year. I’m part of MCMP Glasgow and I spend my time looking at tiny gas bubbles in different materials!

Had such a great time out with these lovely people today, it’s so nice to actually meet people in person and not just over a screen!!

A few days late bc of course I am but I had *such* a good time CheltSciFest!!! It was so wonderful to finally meet a bunch of the other 20/21 famelabbers in person 🥰 plus meeting a bunch of other cool ppl and hearing some amazing talks! Fingers crossed I’ll be back

and I’m using all 3 to write my thesis what’s not clicking

Doing a PhD to avoid the real world is all fun and games until you’re at the end and filling out job applications. Is my PhD a job or part of my education? Do I include GTA work separately? Does education include high school or is that just assumed at this point?? 😭

As a form of PhD stress relief, I’d highly recommend going to see your favourite bands from when you were teenager and singing along to all your teenage angst anthems with >30,000 other people, next level catharsis tbh
