Being coachable means you're willing to consider feedback even if you don't like what you hear. It means resisting the urge to make excuses or get defensive when challenged. Getting better is more important than your ego. You'd rather get it right than be right.

Recruits, on your next phone call or campus visit with a college coach, make sure to ask: What would your development process look like for me when I step on campus? What do freshmen have to show to get playing time? #CSTruth

You’re negative because you practice being negative. You’re nervous because you practice being nervous. You’re worried because you practice being worried. If you want to be calm, confident and positive, practice being those things on purpose. You get good at what you practice.

Celebrate any opportunity your kid has to play in college. Don't dismiss the accomplishment. If a college is interested, your kid has beaten seriously long odds. Get them a cake, blow up the balloons, and throw a party. . ***odds for boys are much worse

How committed are you to being a college student-athlete? Most of you won’t realize the expectations until it’s too late. For the rest of you, start making it a realization that a student-athlete in college is a full time job. #CSTruth

The best teams have reserves that star in their roles and starters that practice like they're trying to make the team. GREAT TEAMS HAVE GREAT TEAMMATES.

Recruits: If you are dismissing D2, D3, NAIA as four year options you are basically cutting off 3/4 of the schools that offer the opportunity to play and get a degree. Some of those schools are very good both academically and with their soccer. Keep your options open.

PLAYERS: Verbal leadership doesn't always have to be rah-rah. If you can talk, then you can be a verbal leader. Any player can ENCOURAGE, INFORM, or REMIND their teammates of the standards, expectations, and goals they have!!
