I’d forgotten the caveat mentioned by Trisha Greenhalgh - because few now do LFD to confirm #COVID19 breakthroughs, many GPs are reticent about using #LongCovid diagnosis or codes..so we under-estimate

I heard today about a local school that bought half a dozen teachers from Jamaica in September last year, and within three months, TWO of them had been hospitalised with covid pneumonia.
All six were off seriously ill during that term.

👀 We need research into “long long covid”. In a significant proportion of people this condition goes on for YEARS.

CVF Member FOI Request to UKHSA:

“Is the COVID-19 pandemic currently ongoing? Please provide a yes or no answer.”

The response was an indirect YES, redirecting to the WHO’s statement.
'This does not mean the pandemic itself is over...'

Why can't the UKHSA simply respond 'YES'?

I have a little foot. It causes me lots of pain, and for the last week it’s been injured. I needed an X-Ray, so I called the Xray Department at the hospital in my town, to see if the X-Ray tech would mind wearing a mask for the time it took to adjust my foot for the X-Rays.

🚨Exactly like I said.
This is the exact age group that is getting worst affected by long term effects of Covid here.
Always weird to see the exact thing that I'm seeing and reporting in the local community reflected in the blue and white of official government releases.

If that's true, the 6 wk holiday must be devastating.

The truth is, every Covid infection (even mild or asymptomatic) causes up to 2% loss of grey matter in the brain.

Clean. The. Air.

1/ The thing is, the UK is institutionally not curious about identifying harms directly caused by covid

For instance it's been a year since they stopped collecting and publishing data on long covid

Panic is not the problem.

People are not panicking. People aren’t even close to being vaguely alert.

People are getting sick and dying from preventable diseases though, because we are so worried about the non-existent panic that we aren’t even doing basic health promotion.
