Studies are coming out regularly showing the devastating effects of Long Covid - yet most people continue to ignore the warnings because they refuse to believe it’s real. Don’t wait until it’s happened to you. There are no do-overs with your health and it’s worth protecting.

📍Let this sink in—a world leading virologist Rick Bright who has studied H5N1 bird flu says he is pausing all his milk consumption until he sees proof from both FDA & USDA that pasteurized milk is safe to drink. Pausing milk because of his concern over lack of transparent data.

“About 2 Million people in England and Scotland say they are experiencing long Covid, figures reveal, with many reporting their symptoms have lasted two years or longer”

What are your plans for treatment and prevention Wes Streeting MP Bridget Phillipson?

Slogans seem to be big in Land.

My choice would be:

Have seen clinical progress in LC derailed by reinfections many times. Reinfection prevention as part of the “Treatment Plan” is key.

Please🛑reinfecting patients in your clinics. 🙏🏻

I’d forgotten the caveat mentioned by Trisha Greenhalgh - because few now do LFD to confirm breakthroughs, many GPs are reticent about using diagnosis or codes..so we under-estimate

Holy Cow. 😮
I heard today about a local school that bought half a dozen teachers from Jamaica in September last year, and within three months, TWO of them had been hospitalised with covid pneumonia.
All six were off seriously ill during that term.

👀 We need research into “long long covid”. In a significant proportion of people this condition goes on for YEARS.

CVF Member FOI Request to UKHSA:

“Is the COVID-19 pandemic currently ongoing? Please provide a yes or no answer.”

The response was an indirect YES, redirecting to the WHO’s statement.
'This does not mean the pandemic itself is over...'

Why can't the UKHSA simply respond 'YES'?

ONS estimates are out.

▶️ March 2023:

Estimated 2.9% ~ 1 in 34 people.

▶️ March 2024:

Estimated 3.3% ~ 1 in 30 people.

I don’t think this is an encouraging trajectory.

I have a little foot. It causes me lots of pain, and for the last week it’s been injured. I needed an X-Ray, so I called the Xray Department at the hospital in my town, to see if the X-Ray tech would mind wearing a mask for the time it took to adjust my foot for the X-Rays.

🚨Exactly like I said.
This is the exact age group that is getting worst affected by long term effects of Covid here.
Always weird to see the exact thing that I'm seeing and reporting in the local community reflected in the blue and white of official government releases.

1. From the report:

'Long COVID symptoms adversely affected the day-to-day activities of 1.5 million people (74.7% of those with self-reported long COVID), with 381,000 (19.2% of those with self-reported long COVID) reporting that their ability to undertake...

I see patients every single day with unexplained symptoms that will only fit with a diagnosis

We need much more investment in diagnosing and treating this debilitating condition

Schools Week How does 16 wks (only 12 of which were term time) over 1 year, set children back this much?

If that's true, the 6 wk holiday must be devastating.

The truth is, every Covid infection (even mild or asymptomatic) causes up to 2% loss of grey matter in the brain.

1/ The thing is, the UK is institutionally not curious about identifying harms directly caused by covid

For instance it's been a year since they stopped collecting and publishing data on long covid

Panic is not the problem.

People are not panicking. People aren’t even close to being vaguely alert.

People are getting sick and dying from preventable diseases though, because we are so worried about the non-existent panic that we aren’t even doing basic health promotion.
