Today I booked my first train ticket in 5 years and my first one since using a wheelchair. Nervous, obviously, but suspect I’ll spend most of the journey as excited as a toddler 🚆

Fascinating evening spent listening to Jim Irvine talk about the Roman villa in Rutland. Brilliant to hear how it was discovered and all of the juicy little details

It’s the end of an era today as my eldest has left for Newcastle. I will miss him hugely, but he was ready to leave. Last night he was trying to mansplain the 1990s (when I started university) to me, so it’s time for him to do that to someone else!

Hurrah!! It's finally dropped!! I did a lot of really cool work on this! A different vibe to Lady Killers, they could have subtitled it 'The Audacity'

Very pleased to say I’ve got an article in the newest edition of The Moment Magazine! If you haven’t got round to reading my book yet this is a great start. The Tingey sisters lived extraordinary lives and this is about their start in Peterborough. P67 themomentmagazine.com/virtual-magazi…

This very unscientific measurement is from my trusty garden bucket that I emptied on Friday evening because my pond needed topping up. In the last three days we’ve had 70mm of rain! That’s more than we normally get in a month and I think we had less than nearby Peterborough

My rabbit hole this week is the Erfurt Latrine Disaster of 1184: It killed perhaps as many as 100 of the aristocracy of the Holy Roman Empire, when they plunged into a latrine beneath the church they were gathered in as the floor gave way. podfollow.com/1671879772/view

This afternoon we’re playing an invigorating game of bin, thunder or plane. I think it might actually be thunder in the distance, but it is bin day! ⛈️

Remembering when I was lucky enough to work with one of Maggie Smith’s dresses from Downton Abbey at Peterborough Museum. I’m sure there will be pictures somewhere
