atmos- sure, but heavy on post- as well as an interesting mix of ambient- and synth- on top. The vocals don't do anything for me, being a little too up front for atmos-, but YMMV. If you need more than black-grind, this could be your stop. #metal

Haken is a competent band of players with a vocalist who lives in the background. His voice does not sustain three hours of neo-prog metal. This is way too much of a decent thing and gets way too samey down the long haul.

some quality death that lets the riffs shine with the vocals staying in their lane. some tech- slips in from time to time, but not in that nerdy, bad way. Quibble - it's 2 songs too long... but that's me. #metal

I see where the new Rivers… is going, but man those kick drums are full on Lars approved, louder than anything else, and putting on a clinic. It’s all I can after a while.

This is solid radio-style heaviness that continues to chart a growth for the band. My major quibble is the mix - besides the sheen, the Lars-approved, super loud kicks are all I can hear after a while. FFO kick drum mixing and production clinics.
