The bank lobby is critical of the stablecoin bill not because they want to kill competition per se. They think it is unfair for a non-bank to do banking without any of the laws and regulations applicable to banks. And they kind of have a point.

Banks should quit complaining about stablecoins and just adopt the technology and compete. It needs to happen NOW! If not, we will get smoked. It's just tech and we have a massive Trump card in North Dakota…the Bank of North Dakota, the correspondent bank for most banks. A
