Wonderful event yesterday at Wigmore Hall for the 85th anniversary of the Kindertransport, organised by @TheAJR. What a privilege to sit next to Kindertransport interviewee Bob Kirk BEM (from #Hanover ), who will be 99 next week and who I interviewed for AJR Refugee Voices Archive.

Looking forward to next week dedicated to the memory of the Kindertransport with the The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) AJR Refugee Voices Archive and the Kindertransport Association: On Sunday special concert at the Wigmore Hall, on Tuesday study day ACF London and on Thursday my talk at my local library in #BelsizePark .

Today on #YomHaShoah2024 I remember Moise Solomon Amir (1912 - 2001) and Palomba Florentin Allalouf (1923 - 1999), who survived Auschwitz and returned to #Thessaloniki alone, without their families. I interviewed them 30 years ago. While Palomba was able to talk, Moise could not.

Hi Janine, just watched the recording, which was really interesting. When I saw your book title, I thought that the name Trautenau was somehow familiar. Yesterday, I checked my dad’s USC Shoah Foundation interview and there it was. He confirms that his sister Fela survived in Trautenau.

Shocked to hear that the amazing Hella Pick CBE died. I was fortunate to have been able to interview her for AJR Refugee Voices Archive and on other occasions. We had planned another interview in May. Together with Alf Dubs and The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) Michael Newman in Berlin, January 2024. RIP Hella.
