Sorry for the interruptions everyone! The email said to hit the Teams link 20 minutes before our session; when I saw everyone there I thought you were all hanging out waiting to chat about some SCR! More interesting than IPMs anyway 😉 Pls don't ban us The International Statistical Ecology Conference

Reminder: together with C. M. Jones-Todd Théo Michelot Ben Swallow Ben Stevenson we are promoting a Topical Collection on Ecological Statistics in JSTP link.springer.com/collections/fj…. Several The International Statistical Ecology Conference were invited to contribute, some have accepted 🥳and some we are waiting for...

Had a great time at The International Statistical Ecology Conference, attending from our remote hub in Raglan. Our conference centre had a great view! Thanks so much to the organisers for accommodating virtual attendees. Hosting a hybrid conference can’t be easy but they really pulled it off 😁

Great news! Just in time for us (@esetyawan8, MMEG_UoA, and collaborators) to submit our paper on open population capture-recapture models for manta rays, in which we used R2ucare 🙌

## NEW SCIENCE ALERT ## Good news from the ocean! A decade of study shows that reef manta rays in Raja Ampat are thriving.. Amazing!!! Out of the blue, @samillingworth wrote a poem about our new paper on reef manta rays in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. I wonder if the inspiration for this work of art came from the beautiful manta rays, or the statistical models? 😁

If you didn't make it to Prof. Russell Millar's fabulously fishy inaugural lecture this evening keep an eye out @ auckland.ac.nz/en/science/new… for the recording and read his first paper that whetted his appetite for modelling fish 🐟📜doi.org/10.1139/f87-071

✨Student Spotlight✨ Rishika (Rishika Chopara ) started her PhD in 2021 developing goodness-of-fit tests for spatial capture-recapture models. If you were at @ #euring2023 then you'll have heard all about it! In her spare time she loves #crochet #crossstitch & all things #crafts
