According to NBA in game Defense data Luka Doncic has 1 field goal tonight when guarded by Rudy Gobert and LeBron James is 0 for 3

Been so impressed with Ant's decision-making once again. A lot like Game 1. He's making all the right passes and is basically unstoppable when he calls his own number.

Scoring totals for these defensive stoppers in the playoffs so far: 0, 2, 3, 4, 6, 6, 8, 8, 8, 10, 11, 11, 12, 16, 25 (McDaniels, Game 1), and now 30 (McDaniels tonight).

Wolves have a roster that can survive a 15% shooting performance from 3 and a 5 for 19 shooting performance from its best player to still win a closeout game on the road Not many teams can say that

Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Woof. Really frustrating to lose a very winnable game. This was a classic case of starting out extremely cold/missing a bunch of open shots and letting the shooting woes bleed into other parts of the game. Still some positives, especially defensively. But woof.

Curry will be re-evaluated in one week. This would suggest that Steph misses Games 2, 3, and 4. Game 5 is one week from today, Curry’s date of re-evaluation.

Credit GS def for pushing MIN actions out toward midcourt. But this is not the first time Ant has seen a defense apply this type of pressure, so this is frustrating. MIN offense has been much better tonight when Conley/Randle have brought the ball up and Ant starts off the ball.

Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In the 1H, the open corner 3s we expected to be there were there. MIN just didn't make them. The TOs we expected to happen, happened. And instead of being up double digits at HT, they were up by four. OKC small ball killed the Wolves in the 2H and they didn't respond.

Wolves playing much more intentionally on offense so far in this game. And the 3s are actually falling. And the defense showed up late in the quarter, forcing the ball out of SGA's hands early and getting decent contests on 3PAs from Wallace and Williams. Wolves will take that.

Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Turns out, the Wolves are better when Ant plays like Ant and when they're actually aggressive and physical on defense. Oh, and they weren't going to shoot sub-30% from three for a third straight game.

Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Incredible game. Crazy MIN managed 126 with Ant /Randle combining for 21. It actually played out exactly like I expected much of the series to look: MIN TOs killing them but 3-pt shooting + role player offense keeping them in a close game. OKC's off rebs + J-Dub were too much.

Fun season. Don't think anyone thought this was a WCF team, really at any point until it was. At the same time, real growth, esp from Ant and Jaden. Of course, Locked On Wolves is still daily during the offseason. Next up, season post-mortem, player reviews, and draft prep (!!).

Which draft prospects should we cover on Locked On Wolves over the next week? Going to discuss guys that the Wolves could take at No. 17 or realistically could be on the board at No. 31.
