Today would have been Ray Wilkins’ 68th Birthday. I can’t ever hear of him without remembering this story.

Wishing ourselves a Happy Birthday! The Rifles was formed in 2007 when four famous regiments came together to create the largest infantry regiment in the British Army, which would quickly become battle-hardened on operations across Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond.

Today on #VJDay our family remember relatives captured and held at the hands of the Japanese. Pte Jack Cunnington (RAMC), and Pte Herbert Sharp (5th Suffolks) both fortunately returned but with the memories of captivity haunting them throughout their later life. #VJDay80
