Standard decision models assume that all options are encoded on a common scale by a unique representation system. Garcia et al. provide evidence that challenges this assumption: participants treat experiential and symbolic options asymmetrically. buff.ly/3icWfta

All NeuroImage and NeuroImage:Reports editors have resigned over the high publication fee, and are starting a new non-profit journal imaging-neuroscience.org This comes with great regret, and a huge amount of thought and discussion- please read announcement to get more details.

The hippocampal navigation system as the basis of Fodor's "language of thought" psyarxiv.com/7rqkb/ A provocative preprint from Kazanina and David Poeppel. Does this mean all thought is ultimately spatial?

Extremely cool and timely study by Binz and colleagues on how psychological data can be used to fine-tune LLMs so that they can behave closer to humans. Even happier to see that they use our (basilegrc) recent experience / description task for out of sample validation 1/

🚨New preprint out!🚨 "Studying and improving reasoning in humans and machines" doi.org/10.21203/rs.3.… work with Hernan Anllo and @NicolasYax3 We study something quite new for us comparative human and machine cognition 🧠 /🤖 So how did we get there?

My first PhD paper with Stefano Palminteri (@stepalminteri.bsky.social) and Hernan Anllo is available on arxiv ! We studied how cognitive biases🧠arise in a family of language models🤖and provide tools to quantify contamination🦠in LLMs and to draw a map of language models' abilities🗺️. arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/pape…

Finally my paper with Adam J Calhoun on What's behavior ? is in press iScience journal : bit.ly/45DsFQn We found people use mixture of six categories of behaviors combined into seven different types. Not everyone agrees but each individual has their own consistent definition

🚨New preprint🚨 Can LLM finetuning relationships be inferred only through model outputs ? We found that adapting phylogenetic algorithms 🧬 to language models 🤖 helps identify families of models and can even predict their performances with Stefano Palminteri (@stepalminteri.bsky.social) and Pierre-Yves Oudeyer ! 1/9
