For our community event last Friday we spent time breaking away from coding to watch movies in the classroom. What is your favorite movie🎬?

Last Friday, students had their quarterly evaluations with members from the board to gauge their progress on their coursework as well as reviewing their peer feedback. Students will continue to have these throughout their time at basecamp to keep track of their progress.

Corey Mize, with Base Camp Coding Academy, met with Mrs. Walker’s Engineering I & II students to discuss opportunities available at the academy.  #NewAlbanyCTE

The Django language is commonly used to combine python languages, as well as HTML & CSS languages. Students will learn about this language for 10 weeks. Keep an eye out for the two Unit Projects that will stem from this language.

Today's student spotlight is River Stults! River's project for the python unit was a Television simulator that had features like channels and a remote. River’s also in charge of catering meals with procurement team and helps manage the stock of items around BCCA. Thanks River!

Last Friday, students wrapped up Unit 4 with the presentation of unit projects and completing all related module work. Please join us in congratulating them!

Recently, a small team of BCCA students went to Oxford High School to recruit students for the Class of 2024. Thank you Oxford High School for welcoming us to present this opportunity to your students.

Last Friday we welcomed back Logan Coley, a previous BCCA graduate now working at Cspire on their automation team. He presented about his day to day at Cspire, as well as giving students insight into the future of automation. Thank you Logan for your time and expertise!

On Tuesday, students from BCCA traveled to GRIT restaurant in Taylor, MS to sharpen their professionalism skills through learning table etiquette. Thank you to Misty Shaw-Feder and her husband Ron for giving students these valuable skills!
