Yes, especially on the real impact of CDR. I have 3 key issues with CDR: (1) it is more a Right to Consumer Data for business than empowering for people (2) it frames us as simply consumers, not citizens (3) it will increase exposure of (and risks) to personal info

The new Victorian redress scheme for historic abuse is a wonderful outcome for CLAN Venezuela, and all survivors. Congratulations to all. Unstinting advocacy. See powerful testimony by Leonie Sheedy and Frank Golding theage.com.au/politics/victo…

Simon Froude, Director General NAA asks what has changed in archives practice since release of watershed Bringing Them Home report? I'd answer, in part, that we now have leadership from our vibrant young Indigenous scholars and colleagues #HereWeAre2022

An uncomfortable keynote from Kirsten Thorpe #HereWeAre2022. Which is good; we should be uncomfortable. Some very serious questions about control of archives and implications about giving up fundamental archival principles and practices.

Very, very sorry to hear today of the recent death of Emeritus Professor Don Schauder, ex Monash Faculty IT and earlier Dept Library, Archives, Records. A wonderful, generous colleague.
