You might be surprised at how many Japanese publishers request that honorifics be dropped for the majority of their English language (manga / light novel) releases. Answer: near all of them. So even if translators want to retain honorifics, it's not our decision to make.

This trend needs to stop (くりした善行 (Zenko)🇯🇵無所属/Anti-Censorship/コミティア153え40a). Japan releases should not be using versions censored for the west.
