If you’re an adult that knows any kids of any age, please help them see how foolish and harmful these ridiculous TikTok challenges are….touching or slapping teachers or school staff members will NEVER be tolerated…..I wish TikTok US would show some decency and leadership…..

So proud of Sparta MS students and staff! Together we raised $1300 for our Angel Tree, which supports local families. To celebrate we held our Change for Change Day which included a dodgeball tournament and for this year, a pie in the principal’s face.

Officially done with school! Dr. Baker has a nice ring to it…

As a school administrator, I am fine with teachers playing games with their students, having class parties, and putting on a movie the last couple days before a major break. We should trust teachers’ discretion, and kids deserve to have fun.

As administrators… most of us are just making it up as we go. There’s not a manual for the stuff we deal with each day. We try to support the teachers and do right by the kids… employing empathy, love, and common sense.

WAYS TO IMPROVE Education 1 Stop viewing our kids as numbers 2 Less standardized testing 3 Provide actual & appropriate consequences for students to learn from 4 Provide more supports 5 Provide teachers more prep time 6 Smaller class sizes 7 Increase teacher salaries

Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.

Our students’ mental health is way more important than any test score.

Once was told by a teacher “snow days are a gift from God” - made it a habit to not do virtual unless it was an extended snow closure - kids need to get out and have fun in the snow, and trust me, wouldn’t hurt adults to do the same - go build a snowman with your kids!

1st day at Sparta MS vs. my last day. I’m going to miss this building & its amazing staff. I will be forever thankful for their support & the opportunity they gave me. That being said, I have accepted the opportunity to lead the students and staff at Pleasant Hope HS next year!
