This stretch of Richmond Rd will soon be widened as part of South Rd project. Taking bets now that SA Infrastructure & Transport will just slap down some paint as the ‘safe cycling’ option. Surely we can get a separated bikeway for this vital east-west connection? Tom Koutsantonis MP Peter Malinauskas

Two new city cycleways are on the cards in main street makeovers. O’Connell and Hutt streets would both be transformed by the installation of separated and protected cycleways along most of their lengths under proposed concept plans drawn up by the City of Adelaide.

This is SA Government. I struggle to think of a state-built road project inside Adelaide that has been done right, other than parts of the greenways. We either a have skills problem, or a political will problem. Or both. Tom Koutsantonis MP Peter Malinauskas Lucy Hood MP

Changing the default urban speed to 30km/h would be an effective safety measure Tasos Koutsantonis Joe Szakacs MP rather than SAPOL Operation Vulnerable (grating name too as people walking/wheeling/cycling not inherently vulnerable, just put at risk by drivers). msn.com/en-au/news/aus…

Then and now. Never really noticed the footbridge before but it’s probably why old photos of ARS give a grander vibe than when I see it in person — it interrupts the sightlines. Will be excellent to see it gone.

That this phenomena was being observed 50+ years ago — and that it still isn’t widely acknowledged or accepted in SA — is a testament to the longevity of Moses’ global influence. Cc: Tom Koutsantonis MP Lucy Hood MP SA Infrastructure & Transport ——— The Power Broker by Robert Caro. Brilliant.

shocked, shocked that trying to improve Sydney’s inner-urban transportation by building a new motorway causes gridlock at its interfaces to surface roads. Surely this has never happened before, no one could have anticipated it* (*it happens every time) smh.com.au/national/nsw/i…
