Itās super that we want to celebrate women scientists but in this hurry to grab eyeballs and be politically correct we canāt appropriate work the wrong way .. an imp intervention here by Roxy Koll ā

Obituary | Valmik Thapar maybe celebrated for his films and books, but his true impact was behind the scenes, writes Bahar Dutt. Read more: thequint.com/opinion/valmikā¦

He will be celebrated for his books and films but it was during his tenure as a CEC member that #wildlife took centre stage in policy .. I wrote about #valmikthapar and his legacy in ā¦The Quintā© Words from ā¦Legal Initiative for Forest and Environmentā© & #maheshrangarajan thequint.com/opinion/valmikā¦

Err Nitin Sethi would respectfully disagree . most of us in our pieces have written about the top down conservation approach followed by him and our Obits reflect that including jay mazoomdaar so no one has sung blind praises . Canāt paint everyone with the same brush

Bahar Dutt The Quint If there is one person to credit for the strong CEC report on mining in Niyamgiri in 2005-2006, it is Valmik. Hearing after hearing, he would howl at the lawyers defending the project saying profit cannot be at the cost of forest. His voice was enough to scare everyone around!
