كان الغساسنة على وعي عميق بهويتهم العربية وعملوا على إثرائها في حدود ملكهم. وفي إطار هذا الانتماء، كانت علاقتهم الوثيقة باللغة العربية هي العامل الحاسم. في الأديرة الغسانية، كان الرهبان يستخدمون العربية في مختلف أنشطتهم الأدبية والدينية.
