I have yet to see an athlete “train on their own” at the local gym and actually see any measurable improvement over any period of time. Especially during the summer, the athletes who miss sessions never improve and often regress. Programming and environment matters!

Been seeing a lot of posts lately of athletes being prescribed Plyo Push Ups Don’t get me wrong, great tool to have and use The issue is most of the athletes I see doing them can hardly do 10 strict push ups I don’t believe they have the strength to correctly utilize a true

Normalize good spotters just as often as you award a well executed lift especially with the HS & College population There’s a trust and accountability factor on both sides of the barbell

If your nervous system can’t fire fast, your swing never will. Train your brain — then train the bat. Savage, Not Average #b3nation #strengthtraining #sportsperformance #baseball #baseballlife #explore

If you can’t move, you can’t swing with power Mobility isn’t optional it’s the gap between average and explosive Close it before someone else passes you Be Savage, Not Average #b3nation #baseball #baseballlife #explore

‼️Baseball Players & Coaches‼️ Most of you think more reps in the cage is the answer False: if you’re not strong, you’re just repeating a weak swing Power comes from Force Production and the cage can’t give you that

If you can’t apply force fast, it doesn’t matter how strong you are.. How to Build Swing Speed #b3nation #baseball #baseballlife #strengthtraining #explore

If discipline only shows up in the weight room or on the field, you’re missing the whole point The weight room is a tool and the ball field is the vehicle What you become from this opportunity is where you CAN win But that requires work We build insanely powerful athletes…

Travel ballplayers-if your team does an hour of “speed/agility” work, you’re being scammed. Being tired, sweaty, puking from a training session isn’t guaranteeing you of getting faster, more explosive. To increase speed-you have to get stronger(the right way), and sprint w/rest.

Weight Room or Bust. A lot of players need to be told the truth. Either get stronger and more physical or your baseball career beyond high school is unattainable.

The coach/athlete relationship isn’t a 50/50 relationship. The athlete is the more valuable component of the equation. Don’t believe me? Remove the athlete from the equation. Who you coaching? If you don’t understand this, coaching & leadership will forever be beyond you.
