Antonio Vargas and Daigo Higa ends in a draw with Vargas retaining the WBA bantamweight title. Well that 12th round knockdown saved his title for Vargas. Higa dropped Vargas in the 4th. I thought the scores were fair. Scorecards: 113-113, 113-113, 113-113.

Beautiful 1-2 sends Sandoval down in the 5th. I have it 3-2 for Kenshiro.

5-4 Kenshiro. Lots of back and forth. Both landing some great shots. Kenshiro,who’s pace has slowed, trying to control the fight behind his jab but Sandoval has taken in away a bit compared to earlier in the fight.

6-5 Kenshiro. Best round of the fight. Brutal, gruelling fight for both men. Very close fight. Lots of close rounds in a great fight.

7-5 Kenshiro. What a fight. Those championship rounds in particular. Kenshiro really put it all on the line in the 12th, as did Sandoval. Both gave it their absolute all in there.

Ricardo Sandoval defeats Kenshiro Teraji by majority decision to win the WBC & WBA flyweight titles. What a great fight. Not sure about the wide card but the other two are fair. Life changing win for Sandoval! Scorecards: 115-112, 113-114, 117-110.

It’s always great to see fighters performing at their best in their biggest fight. It’s not the most dominant/best Sandoval has looked but level wise, relative to his opponents level, that’s the best he’s looked in his career. Some good unifications await him in a good division.
