That time at a wedding my cousin ran up yelling someone’s having a stroke and needed me. I rolled my eyes, took her 3 minutes to convince me it was real and leave my food. It was real. Luckily there was a doctor there. That doctor was a pharmacist. My role was to call 911 :)

If you ever feel like appreciating something—do it right away. I just had an iced matcha latte from Whole Foods café, and it was so good I had to call the barista to say thank you. A little kindness goes a long way. Alhamdulillah for this lovely morning ♥️

I sometimes get scared to beat people at chess because they don’t want a rematch 😞

I just had matcha with oat milk during rounds as acting attending, and every time I took a sip, I looked like I was in actual physical pain. Absolutely a no, but I kept forgetting how bad it was.

When I am rounding and residents are dragon-ing away like I can’t magically hear them. 🙂😛

Tears sometimes run down my face when I present a devastating case. They don’t cloud my judgment, slow me down, or affect my care. But they remind me—and everyone listening—that I’m human, and so are my patients.

Last graduation of my life, dare I call myself a VASCULAR NEUROLOGIST. All praise to the most high.

Did my first community talk for stroke prevention… and people have a lot of good questions. What a privilege. Not taking this responsibility lightly InshaAllah.
