1st print journal featuring a #poem by my teen RainbowRaven! 🤩The Echo Teen Art & Lit Mag’s a great pub for youth to submit! Proud of my kid for taking the risk to submit & sharing their words. They have so many important things to say—this is just the beginning.

Definitely recommend Stephanie Foo, author of WHAT MY BONES KNOW’s “What My Bones Know,” for all #fosterparents & many #adoptiveparents because #CPTSD is what’s coursing through our kids bones—the more we understand it, especially from a first-hand perspective, the more we can support our kids & ourselves💜

Truly enjoying reading the entire issue Honeyguide Literary Magazine on the theme of #oceananimals🪼My piece, “Internal Compass” appears in it as well (and can be read online) 🐢 It’s such a wonderful journal to work with—taking great care & pride in the work they publish 📖

"My daughter’s birth mom dons a tattoo of a sea turtle— a premonition her hatchings would return the same way sea turtles do each year to the exact beach their existence began." "Internal Compass" by Amber Watson ✍️ honeyguidemag.com/internal-compa…

My teenager’s first published art piece appears in the latest issue of #deadpeasant magazine! 🎨 Look out world, RainbowRaven’s a double threat: poetry & art!

It’s October, which means one of very own #poems appears on display at several #NorthCarolina locations, like here in Durham Freeman's Creative 🧵It’s all part of NC Poetry Society’s #poetryinplainsight statewide program 📝

My high schooler and I will both have #poems in Ghost Light Lit’s very first issue!💡What a special experience to share, especially as we both continue to use our creative outlets to process big feelings like grief 🖤 RainbowRaven

My poem “I Take Your Grief to Target” p.28 feels at home in Ghost Light Lit’s inaugural issue 🖤 Alongside my teenager’s #poem on p. 44.

In honor of the 13-year #cicadas hatching like crazy this week in North Carolina, here’s my #poem “Molt” originally published in 3Elements Review 🪰
