Nigerian leaders have no respect for their citizens. Not one iota. How dare they celebrate IBB? Let him write his memoirs. We will write our own stories and document the kind of president he was. Fund raising, my foot!

No permanent enemies, no permanent friends in Naija politics. Just permanent interests. Even a record of disastrous failures and documented misdeeds can be forgiven. Just write a memoir with a perfunctory, dismissive apology, then gather old "friends" for a fundraising event.
