What a lovely afternoon to share our seasonal poems with Year 2 ☀️🍂

Year 6 loved listening to one of our favourite authors, Maz Evans at the #WaterstonesVirtualEvent. Maz gave us some helpful advice about writing quest stories- we have some very inspired authors here that are ready to write!📖

After looking at different renewable energy sources in our geography lessons, Year 6 created their own wind turbine models in our DT session today.💨 🌎 By attaching buckets, we were able to see how wind turbines can produce power.⚡️

Year 6 have created an art instillation to raise awareness of plastic pollution. We’ve had a fantastic time creating our sea creatures and hope you enjoy our hard work!

It’s the season of giving and thanks to all of your generosity, we have received enough book donations to create our fabulous Avonwood ‘bookmas’ tree. There’s no better way to celebrate our love of reading!

Year 6 have had an incredibly poignant morning. Thank you to all survivors who have been willing to share their story.

World Book Week launch: ‘Meet a Book Monday’. KS2 chose which book they would like to hear the first chapter of this afternoon. They went to the assigned classroom and were greeted by a surprise teacher! Lots of happy children with a new book on their wish list.

Year 6 have very much enjoyed doing heart dissections today. A huge thank you to Nurse Elle for coming in to help with this and answer all our questions!
