We want to wish all of your Year 3s and their families a lovely summer holidays. We have loved teaching you all and will miss you all! Thank you for all of the generous cards, messages and gifts. 💕

Year 3 had tremendous fun exploring sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rock types. Now who would have thought that you can create igneous rock simply using Starburst? Great fun!

Year 3 are looking forward to our Stonehenge trip on Thursday. A polite reminder that children need to wear their Avonwood PE uniform, navy jogging bottoms, navy t-shirt and navy jumper. In addition, they will need a waterproof coat and suitable outdoor footwear.

Just to remind you that Year 3 will be attending Forest School every Friday morning for the remainder of this term. As well as wearing your PE kit, please also bring a pair of outdoor shoes or wellies, a warm coat and you may also want to bring a jumper to keep you warm.

Year 3 had a fun-filled morning acting out scenes from our instruction/adventure stories. “Oh no you didn’t!” “Oh yes we did!”

What a fantastic morning making shelters as part of our Forest School experience. We even managed to escape the rain.

How does light travel Year 3?

Year 3 had a fun filled day supporting Children in Need.

Year 3 have been creating their own ‘Cave Art’, taking our inspiration from Lascaux Caves and our reading text, Stone Age Boy.

Year 3 have had a very thought provoking afternoon setting up our science investigation, thinking about variables and fair testing to predict the best conditions for growing radishes. We can’t wait to see the results.

‘Curiouser and curiouser’. Year 3 had a truly magical afternoon designing and preparing our own sandwiches for our ‘Mad hatter’s Tea Party.’ Truly delicious!
