Pioneering molecular biologist Sydney Brenner dedicated his life to understanding genes. Brenner realised that the worm C. elegans could be used to see mutations introduced into genes as distinct changes in organ formation. His visionary work created an important research tool.

Great effort Monika Chauhan! She reported Ub-ligase Itch is hyperactivated in AD models causing neuronal death and dissected mechanism (2020). Then used clomipramine to inhibit Itch in AD model, it reversed cognitive defects. Interesting, this drug is used as anti-OCD.

This year sees an exceptionally rare joint emergence of two cicada broods: one that surfaces every 13 years and another with a 17-year cycle They last emerged together in 1803, when Thomas Jefferson was US president go.nature.com/4bHzT9S

Since anti-IL11 and rapamycin (which can also boost lifespan) both converge on MTOR, it'd be interesting to put anti-IL11 head-to-head against rapamycin - maybe that's the next paper Widjaja et al in Nature (nature.com/articles/s4158…)

This drug won a Nobel Prize… But now they're trying to hide it. Ivermectin. Here’s what it is, what it does, & why they don't want you to know the truth:

This is Thomas Seyfried. He’s a professor of biology, who’s studied cancer for 30+ years. His message? Cancer isn’t bad genes or bad luck—it’s damaged mitochondria. This flips everything you’ve been told about how to treat & prevent cancer: 🧵
