Andy has a long history with the English autism strategy. He was health secretary when the Autism Act became law. But, "society's understanding is still too low," Andy Burnham says. And there hasn't been enough progress including in GM. #autismfriendlyGM

The strategy covers four areas: access, community, health and support, and employment and transition. #autismfriendlyGM

We're also hearing from the chairs, Julie and Peter, from GM Autism Consortium's two groups: for carers/family members and autistic people. They're an important way for people to get involved. #autismfriendlyGM
