Thank you to the Mid-Atlantic’s own Senator Tom Carper of Delaware for prioritizing and expanding protections for habitat along our coasts!

To #ActOnClimate, we need to scale up the grid while minimizing impacts on birds and their habitats. Audubon's Dr Brooke L Bateman and Wendy Bredhold spoke with Pennsylvania Environmental Council about how this can be accomplished in Pennsylvania and across the U.S. bit.ly/3TwQPIh

"Audubon supports the Central Atlantic lease areas and stands ready to work with developers to ensure that projects are built with birds and communities in mind," said Audubon Mid-Atlantic's Jim Brown. bit.ly/3xqmxQa

The Coastal Habitat Conservation Act, sponsored by Rep. Jared Huffman, will fund the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Coastal Program. This grant program helps restore wetlands, beaches, and freshwater ecosystems, like Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland.

We're thrilled to announce a recent $274,000 National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant received by Audubon New York and Audubon Mid-Atlantic to connect endorsed foresters with 800 acres of private land to implement #BirdFriendly forest management plans. bit.ly/47NLrao

The Maryland Offshore Wind project approved by Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will use bird protection measures recommended by Audubon staff and local chapters – including installing lighting abatement and perching deterrents and avoiding disruptive construction. bit.ly/4ikdKSA

We're on Capitol Hill today and excited to meet Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr. on his first day in Congress. We look forward to working with you for clean water!

The 2025 Maryland General Assembly is underway! That’s why Audubon Mid-Atlantic and partners are in Annapolis advocating for birds and the special Maryland places they rely on. Learn more about this year’s priorities: bit.ly/3WQeIwN
