There have been reports of thunder being heard as far west as London recently, despite the thunderstorms being all the way near Kent! This was caused by anvil crawler lightning and these types of strikes can stretch miles away from the main thunderstorm. A much wider part of SE

On 18th July 2025 our #RaspberryPi #MeteorCameras in North #Oxfordshire captured several #sprites above a storm in northern France. Most of them were on #UK000F but the double was also caught on #UK0006 #TLE #TransientLuminousEvent #Lightning #Thunderstorm
