The number of islands in a lake depends on the water level. Drain the lake and there are no islands. As you add water back, islands appear. Add more water and some islands disappear. This is basically persistent homology.

Topological Deep Learning is an immensely powerful and fast emerging field. Our new literature review arxiv.org/abs/2304.10031 is out and here’s why I’m very excited about it🧵1/5

I have created a public repository for getting insights about topological deep learning, in which the learning resources are well organized: github.com/lrnzgiusti/awe… 🧵

Simplicial complexes are combinatorial objects generalizing triangulations. They are central to (computational) homology and topological data analysis. Two examples for embedded points are alpha and Chech complexes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplicia…

"Neural Manifolds" have become increasingly widespread in neuroscience (&AI), but we are far from having a unified framework. Here are some resources I've found particularly insightful about what neural manifolds are and the role they play in computation in neural systems: 🧵1/14

The Spanish Network of Topology has organized an online introductory course to TDA. The course will be taught by many great researchers (although I miss some names :( ) and it is totally free. The best part is that I will also talk! More info at sites.google.com/view/introduct…
