Check out our Bas Altena (bas altena) explaining how we use ESA Earth Observation Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite to monitor the quickly changing glaciers, worldwide, from space --> youtube.com/watch?v=5QiQlf…

We did it, we survived our first AGU (and loved it)! Over the last week we - PhDs of the #HiRISE_NWO consortium – all presented our work at #AGU21, focusing on the Antarctic ice shelves from all perspectives! Sanne Veldhuijsen Ann-Sofie Priergaard Zinck #shashwatshukla

What started as a project on a course on Applied Machine Learning during my MSc has now ended up in a publication 🥳 We applied two different ML techniques to retrieve SST from passive microwave measurements and compared them to a state-of-the-art model: authors.elsevier.com/c/1fiB77qzSxbyz

Check our paper just out on SST retrievals from MW using ML. preparing for CIMR authors.elsevier.com/c/1fiB77qzSxbyz well done Emy Alerskans, Ann-Sofie Priergaard Zinck and Pia Englyst 👏🍾

Is Utrecht University (and Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research) very white? - YES Is Utrecht University (and Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research ) very male dominant? - YES October is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Month at Utrecht University for which this video has been made: youtu.be/oPceA-qcYn4 Could Utrecht University and Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research do more? - YES

Today I presented my work on high resolution basal melt rates of the Dotson Ice Shelf (#HiRISE_NWO) at the BBOS symposium organized by Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research I always try to sneak a rainbow into my presentations 🌈 Pride in Polar Research

This week we bring to you a recent ice-hot news item by the World Meteorological Organization that recently has declared to give more focus on and support for cryospheric research and collaboration. We summarise, how the local changes impact us all on a global level. blogs.egu.eu/divisions/cr/2…

Our former ECR rep TJ Young 楊敦然 and Marianne Karplus @teamgeophysics investigated how to establish inclusive #fieldwork and included a long list of actions, resources and insights after applying these in #Antarctica International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration blogs.egu.eu/divisions/cr/2…

What's it like to study the melting of #Antarctic ice shelves in 2023? EGU's Simon Clark talks to one of the new EGU Cryosphere @egu-cr.bsky.social #EarlyCareer Scientist Co-Reps Ann-Sophie Zinck (Ann-Sofie Priergaard Zinck) as she discusses her research & how you can get involved in EGU!
