The Axiom Space Mission 4 (Ax-4) crew has completed their NASA training ahead of their mission to the International Space Station! In Houston, the crew’s training teams celebrated this milestone with a mission plaque hanging and cake cutting ceremony – a NASA tradition. 💫

It's easy to forget just how big space is. That little dot on the right is the Ax-2 crew in our spacecraft, Freedom, headed to the International Space Station. I can't wait to go back!

The Ax-4 mission patch symbolizes a unified perspective of Earth and space. The four ascending lines that converge at the International Space Station represent the four countries on the mission. The patch is further divided into three sections, reflecting the continents involved,

The most special thing about looking at the Earth from space is the amazing perspective. We're up here, living on a space station, where we have put systems in place to generate a life support system. We remove the carbon dioxide, provide oxygen, regulate the temperature.. all of

I don't really like talking about records, but today marks a special one. 8 years ago today, I broke the record for most time spent in space by any American. It was special for me because it didn't involve a niche title or category carved out for one group, but a milestone

Taking out the trash is not a simple task in space. Astronauts generate about two garbage cans a week of trash that is first into one of two categories: wet or dry. We manually pack trash into bags (aptly named trash footballs) and often seal them with duct tape to maximize

Each Axiom mission builds on the successes of the last with the ultimate goal of opening up access to space for everyone. My previous mission, Ax-2, integrated with international partners through government sponsorship and supported over 20 experiments focused on human psychology

One thing we have learned over the years is that flexibility helps with efficiency. In space, there are situations you can't predict. I might be logging information into the computer and it's taking forever to load. A non-flexible timeline would have me waiting for the computer

As an astronaut, If I could change one thing it would be people's perception of spaceflight. I think it is seen too often as a distant, flashy endeavour - cool, but not relevant, and that could not be further from the truth! The science conducted in space leads to medical and

Historically, people with insulin-dependent diabetes have been disqualified from spaceflight over concerns of managing the condition in microgravity. In an effort to broaden spaceflight accessibility to a larger population, #Ax4 will be conducting an experiment called 'Suite

Without a washing machine on the Space Station, outfit changes are limited and generally happen as part of a rotation of daily wear becoming exercise wear, and then when 'the odor is no longer tolerable', heading to trash to be burned upon re-entry. Maybe that was why it felt

I love having the opportunity to perform research in space, and one I am especially looking forward to on #Ax4 will examine the effectiveness of new drugs for inhibiting cancer cell growth. axiomspace.com/release/cancer…
