Microgravity, higher radiation levels and a near-vacuum state provide an extraordinary environment that will enable discoveries that can improve life on Earth. As stewards of this planet, we must look back on it from space and ask ourselves what we can do to help.

A Japanese space startup (iSpace) is sending a lunar lander to the moon today! The Hakuto-R M1 lander will make a soft landing on the moon. The second lander will deploy a rover for surface exploration.

Did you know we can grow plants in space? Growing fresh fruit and veggies on long-duration missions will keep astronauts healthy. Photo: Astronaut Scott Kelly nursed these dying space zinnias back to health on the International Space Station.

Sierra Space's LIFE module system is an expendable addition to the International Space Station, which can safely house astronauts and equipment. The DreamChaser space plane will launch with the LIFE module.

Cancer research is being done on-orbit, and will expand with additional companies in Low Earth Orbit. Breakthroughs in pre-cancer diagnostics and therapeutics on Orbital Reef could lead to the on-orbit manufacture of drugs that eradicate forms of cancer at the earliest stages.

Did anyone else watch NASA's Artemis I Orion Spacecraft enter into a lunar orbit last week? We'll see the first woman and first person of color on the lunar surface before the end of the decade. youtube.com/watch?v=u2cO1e…

Have you ever wondered how astronauts shower in space? Water does not flow down in a micro-gravity environment, like in a typical Earth shower. They use dry shampoo and wet towels to get clean. science.howstuffworks.com/shower-in-spac…

You don't have to be a scientist or engineer to work in the space industry! Space businesses, and NASA, need business developers, accountants, lawyers, human resources, public affairs, marketing and PR, logistics, etc.

Learn about how NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) is the most powerful rocket in the world and how this first spaceflight is a new chapter in history. youtube.com/watch?v=s3gt0m…

How did NASA move the world's most powerful rocket to the launchpad? How did they assemble the parts of the rocket that were manufactured in other cities? Custom barges, plans, and trains delivered the parts to NASA KSC. Learn more about it here: youtube.com/watch?v=FQOHUs…

This is a fun, hands-on lesson plan for kids (and anyone who is curious!) to learn about The Crawler. It's is a massive piece of machinery that moves at 1 mile per hour. It is so slow, that a bathroom is inside for the drivers! nasa.gov/sites/default/…

The Crawler looks like something out of Star Wars. The same Crawler that transported Saturn V rockets to the launch pad during Apollo was used to carry the SLS for the Artemis-1 launch to the pad. It's about the size of a baseball infield and weighs more than 6M lbs (2.7M kgs)!

The Orion spacecraft contains sensors to collect data on the radiation levels lunar astronauts will be exposed to. Radiation levels increase significantly once outside the Earth's magnetosphere, and this puts them at risk for future health issues. youtube.com/watch?v=70Grih…

This is a fun DIY at-home activity to teach students and kids about how different materials block different radiation. Spacecraft designers take great care to use materials that are safe and provide the greatest protection from harmful rays! nasa.gov/stem-ed-resour…
