OSIRIS-REx collected regolith, but some large particles are jamming the diaphragm open (screen capture from NASA press event); the black horizontal streaks are shadows of large particles...

So there are larger particles that have jammed the collection container so while they still have a ton of material some of it is escaping. The concern is if the container remains open we could lose the entire sample. Not good at all.

OK, so it’s good & bad news RE NASA's OSIRIS-REx on this press call. The TAGSAM device picked up loads of material from Bennu, but it was so much that the mechanism that was to seal the sample inside is now wedged open by bits of asteroid – some of which is now being spilt into space.

Jupiter* & Saturn gliding past the upper boughs of a magnificent, old Somerset (oak?) tree this evening. I'm going to go out on a limb (groan) and say this isn't the first #GreatConjunction this tree has seen in its time. *plus the Galilean Moons
