On June 19, 1865, enslaved Americans in Texas finally received word that the Emancipation Proclamation was signed and they were free. Each year, Juneteenth is a day for celebration and reflection as we commemorate the end of slavery and strive for future progress.

Today, ASRC celebrates its 53rd anniversary. Guided by our Iñupiaq values, we've grown over the past 53 years from three operating companies in Utqiaġvik to having operations in all 50 states. Our continued growth and success bring value to over 14,000 Iñupiaq shareholders.

ASRC honors the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of all Indigenous peoples — including the values and traditions of our North Slope Iñupiat. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate the deep and lasting impact of Indigenous communities across the country.

November is National Native American Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich histories, cultures, and traditions of Alaska Native and Native American communities. This month, and throughout the year, we recognize and celebrate the enduring contributions of the North Slope Iñupiat

On November 4, 1989, ASRC’s shareholders voted to open enrollment to North Slope Iñupiaq descendants born after the ANCSA cutoff date of December 18, 1971. This June, ASRC shareholders again voted to ensure that our cultural values are passed down to future generations.

On Inuit Day, we honor the enduring legacy of Eben Hopson Sr., a visionary leader and international advocate for Inuit rights and self-determination. In observance of Inuit Day, the ASRC Corporate offices will be closed today and will reopen on Monday, November 10.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who served and continue to serve our country. A special Quyanaqpak and Taikuu to our ASRC shareholder and employee veterans. For Veterans Day, the ASRC Corporate offices will be closed today and reopen on Wednesday, November 12.

Tonight, the sun will set for the last time this year in Utqiaġvik, home to ASRC’s corporate headquarters and the northernmost community in the United States. Residents will not see the sun again until January 22, 2026. We wish everyone a warm winter from the top of the world!

Happy Thanksgiving! Our ASRC family wishes you and your family a wonderful holiday. ASRC Corporate offices, VRR offices, and Stock Department will be closed on November 27 and 28 for the holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, December 1.

Native American Heritage Day is a time to recognize and uplift Indigenous people across the nation. Today, and every day, we honor all Indigenous communities, including the North Slope Iñupiat, whose resilience, knowledge, and traditions continue to guide us.
