The Eastern NY Student and Postdoc Chapter for ASM ENY ASM Student Chapter is ready to the Annual Spring Symposium. We are gonna host several trainees in Microbiology presenting their outstanding research and a career panel!

Our annual spring trainee symposium started today with Andrew Muñoz Gamba from The RNA Institute presenting his research on West Nile Virus.

Now, we have Landon Thompson from ACPHS presenting his research on HIV-1.

Our session moved from Viral infections to bacterial infections and we are having Odion from UAlbany presenting his research on Listeria.

Now, Heloise Muller is going deep on Listeria genomes, showing genetic exchange between chromosome and mobile genetic elements.

After a break for coffee and cookies, our morning talks are back with Alex Lemus from UAlbany presenting his research on Oral Biofilm structure.

Now, Emmanuel Adade from UAlbany is presenting his work on Machine learning-based models for precise microbial identification and microbiome spatial analysis.

Now, our second session moved from Microbiomes to Bacterial population and Maitiu from UAlbany is presenting his work on Salmonella Enterica in USA.

And our last speaker of this morning is Samara from UAlbany. She is showing her results about genomic diversification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

After a delicious lunch, we are now hosting 16 amazing trainees presenting their poster. A lot of interactions going on!
